My birthday, even though my underage friends were kicked out of the pub despite having guardians, was truly brilliant.
I showed up, did my exam, worked for 2 hours just for the sake of it, went next door and got my ears done again (thats 3 mutilations now,) and bought vodka.
I didn't drink it, I just wanted to buy it.
All by myself.
I was aiming for Absinthe just to say I had  bottle of Absinthe on my shelf, but I soon discovered that this isn't Europe, and no one drinks it here.
It now sits proudly on my shelf with my welsh flag and collections of glass coke bottles and confectionary tins.
Michael bought me my first legal drink, endorsed by mum as she had to stay home for some cleaners.
I had Baileys.
2 of them.
With 2 shots of vodka each.
Then a glass of merlot cabernet, after michael discovered he didn't actually like wine, swapping it for my lemon bitters (more vodka? really?)
Peta gave me $18 in $1 coins for the pokies. I won $20 (even though Michael bought beer without my permission with it hahahaha)...and that is, without any strand of doubt, the first and last time I will ever, ever gamble. Leave the wretched habit on a high note.
Beth beat the boys in pool, and Danae and I laughed at Jack eating his wedges. I'm not exactly sure why that was funny.
Beth, Peta, Aaron and Michael all chilled at mine, and shamefully, I had another drink. I'm not sorry.
Michael, Beth and I watched High Fidelity and crashed at 4 in the morning.

Although recounts stress me out no end, I honestly can't describe how touched I was to be surrounded by such beautiful and loving friends. Although no pictures were taken, and I walked into the wrong toilet, I had a really lovely, laid back time.

I'm not hungover, but I'm now going to go for a jog to drain whatever toxins remain in my system.
